Who Is God?

God is the creator and sustainer of all things:

Hebrews 11:3
"By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible."

John 1:3
"All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made."

God is just and merciful:

1 Peter 3:18
"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,"

Psalm 145:8–9
"The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made."

2 Corinthians 5:21
"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

God is our heavenly father:

1 Corinthians 8:6
"yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist."

Isaiah 64:8
"But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand."
